Financial Analyst- REMOTE(preferred on EAST Coast)
Job Summary
This position supports the approved RES programs with the potential to also support RES programs pending approval. The primary responsibilities of this position involve financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and business planning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide program reporting and analytical support for RES programs. Reporting responsibilities include:
- Creating and obtaining approval for BPU reports
- Provide financial and operational data to the RES program teams to support BPU reporting requirements.
- Work with Accounting and Rates to ensure alignment of actuals and forecast for the RES programs.
- Maintain and update the financial forecast models for the RES programs.
- Support the implementation of Oracle and the transition from the Excel based forecasting models to the new web based platform.
- Develop and generate ad-hoc reports as required to support operational/financial reporting and analysis.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives within the Business Operations group.
- Support the Business Operations group in cost recovery requirements, annual SAP planning, EOG updates, and the development of the 10-year business plan.
- Play a leadership role in the development, recommendation and implementation of new procedures/process improvements, often via cross-functional teams.
- Prepare status reports for management, developing and delivering appropriate communication materials.
- Provide technical expertise and support to program managers for RES program activities.
- Drive efficiency and process improvement, utilizing leadership skills, data analysis and strong understanding of the business strategies.
- Foster the refinement, understanding and enhanced utilization of process measures and benchmarking.
Other information:
- Supporting the Renewable program
- Will be Financial reporting, forecasting, and overall analysis
- 10 year business planning within the group
- Excel skills should be more than basic knowledge. Should have vlookup and pivot tables
- Export data from SAP and manipulate it in Excel
- Reporting and forecasting typically due on a monthly basis
- May be involved with BPU reporting for the board of Public Utilities
- Accounting exp.. don’t need to be an account but knowledge of month end process
- SAP is not mandatory
- Transitioning to Oracle Cloud- not required exp
- SOX controls- not required but a plus
- Good Excel and FA experience
- Working with other groups accounting, PM collaboration within solar loans, electrical vehicle,
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Smartview is an excel based add in that automatically gets uploaded to oracle cloud—not asking the worker to implement (coding) oracle, but actually help the group transition from excel based models to the smart view template
- SAP is more important than Oracle Cloud
- Understand a financial model but not looking for someone to build it from scratch
